What
Makes a House a HOME ~ Portsmouth New Hampshire or Anywhere
Portsmouth's New Dog Park
Portsmouth New Hampshire has loads of pets all over the place, and it's
a great town for walking dogs (and kids!) - sidewalks in most of the town, a
pet-friendly downtown, lots of nice little parks. And we have a
City of Portsmouth Dog Park, too. That wasn't easy to get going, but
it's been in existence for a few years now at this point.

New Hampshire Naturally!
"New Hampshire Naturally" is one of our
state songs. Well, actually, it's one of the eight
honorary NH State Songs. The official state song is "Old
New Hampshire".
New Hampshire, being the fiercely independent state
that we are, has the unusual distinction of having nine state songs. How
that came to be is rather interesting!

New Hampshire Nuggets
WELCOME TO
NEW HAMPSHIRE!! New Hampshire was the
first state to declare its independence from Great
Britain, and it was the first to set up its own
independent government, having done so in January
1776. That fierce independence that NH natives are
known for was shining through way back then!

New Hampshire Made Delights
One of my favorite places in New
Hampshire for downright yummy goodies made right here in my own
home state is The
Brick Store in Bath, New Hampshire. Bath, NH is known
as the "Covered Bridge Capital" of New England, and quite
possibly of the country. Bath is a tiny little town with a population of
only 790 residents, but what a scenic place to visit.

AMERICA - Land of the Free, Thanks to Our VETERANS
Today, November 11th, is
Veterans Day.........and I want to say thank you to each and
every veteran in our great country, and to all of our current
military members all over the world. We live in a fabulous country,
where we're free to do and say and be whatever we want, and for
those freedoms, we have our proud military members, past - present -
future, to thank. And
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Portsmouth Sellers - How is YOUR Property Being Represented?
Here
in my areas of Portsmouth and
the Seacoast towns of New
Hampshire and southern Maine, we
still show our own
listings about 80-90% of the
time. We know there are many
parts of the country that don't
do assisted or accompanied
showings, but most of us that
work in this area still consider
that part of our job for our
seller-clients.

Happy Thanksgiving From My House to Yours!
Thanksgiving
Tidbits, Trivia, and Fun!
Did you know that Thanksgiving actually began in
the United Kingdom, as their
Harvest Festival? It was later brought to
America by the early settlers, and from there it
became a much more important holiday than it had
been originally. The first celebration in
America took place in Plymouth in 1621 by the
Pilgrims, which was actually a form of the
UK's Harvest Festival. The first official
Thanksgiving was actually in the
Virginia Colony on December 4, 1619. The
first national
Thanksgiving Day was proclaimed by George
Washington and celebrated on November 26, 1789.
